Following the fire at our Gunthorpe base on Thursday 12 March, we wanted to share an update with everyone and reassure our customers and community that Parallax Equestrian is still fully operational.
The fire sadly destroyed our warehouse and the stock that was stored there. However, the most important thing is that no one was injured, and for that we are incredibly grateful.
We would also like to say a huge thank you to the Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue crews who worked incredibly hard to control the fire and prevent it from spreading further. Their efforts helped protect the rest of the farm and surrounding buildings, and we are extremely grateful for their work.
Fortunately, all of our manufacturing takes place at a separate off-site facility, which was completely unaffected by the fire. Production is continuing as normal, and we are able to replace almost all of our product range, so it is very much business as usual for us.
As it happens, we were already planning a relocation before the fire took place. While this wasn’t how we expected things to unfold, we’re choosing to see it as the start of an exciting new chapter for Parallax Equestrian.
One thing that has really stood out over the past few days is the incredible support we’ve received from customers, friends, and the wider equestrian community. It has meant more to us than we can properly express.
As Anna, our Director, put it:
“Moments like this make you realise just how special the community around this business really is. The messages and support we’ve received have been overwhelming, and we’re so grateful. Of course we’re shocked by what has happened, but we also know it could have been far worse. We’re choosing to move forward with positivity and see this as a fresh start — onwards and upwards.”
Thank you to everyone who has reached out. Your support truly means the world to us.
