Thank You: Our Hay-Saver Raffle Raised Over £500 for The Horse Trust

We're delighted to share that our recent Hay-Saver raffle, run in partnership with Equine Giveaways for The Horse Trust, has raised over £500 for the charity. To everyone who bought a ticket, shared the posts and cheered us on: thank you. Every entry has gone towards helping horses who need it most.

Why The Horse Trust?

The Horse Trust is the world's oldest horse charity and has been caring for horses for almost 140 years. Based at its sanctuary in Speen, Buckinghamshire, the charity is home to more than 130 horses, ponies and donkeys. Its work covers retirement, respite, rescue, rehoming and remembrance — giving safe, lifelong care to horses that have served, been retired or been let down. Beyond the sanctuary, The Horse Trust also funds equine research and grants and runs training courses, helping to raise welfare standards for horses across the UK.

Why hay matters so much

As horse owners, we all know how quickly hay disappears in winter, and for a sanctuary on this scale the cost is enormous. When grazing isn't possible over the winter months, hay becomes even more vital, and in one recent year it cost the charity over £51,000 to buy the 2,074 bales needed to feed its residents. That's exactly why a raffle built around the Hay-Saver felt like such a natural fit. Slow feeding helps hay last longer, reduces waste and keeps horses eating the way nature intended — and the money raised goes straight towards keeping bellies full at the sanctuary.
